Marelokk – opening at RAM Galleri, 5 November

Dear friends,

I’m happy to invite you to the opening of my solo exhibition Marelokk at RAM Galleri in Oslo.

Marelokk is a series of hanging sculptures in motion – slowly turning compositions of sharp, folded steel plates and soft velour, about dreams. The title refers to the mare, the night creature of Norwegian folklore who was said to tangle the hair of sleepers and the manes of horses into knots – marelokker. As protection, people hung sharp steel above the bed or placed it under the pillow. The sculptures echo this old ritual: sharp steel turning above the sleeper.

Opening: Thursday 5 November, 18:00
On view: 5 November – 5 December 2026
RAM Galleri, Kongens gate 15, Oslo
Everyone welcome.

It has been a busy autumn. Flokkdyr floated in the harbour during the Trondheim Biennale, Flux stood in Tivoli Gardens during CHART Art Fair in Copenhagen, and Magic Bean and Et dukkehjem were shown in group exhibitions in Oslo.

I would love to see you at the opening.

Warm regards,
Signe Solberg
